Project Management

Achieving both engineering performance and biodiversity enhancement in marine projects requires a seamless, fully-integrated approach.

A turnkey service covering design, manufacture, installation, and monitoring ensures efficient project execution while delivering measurable environmental benefits. With nearly 90,000 Reef cubes currently, and more in the process of being deployed across seven countries, organisations benefit from proven expertise in nature-based solutions and artificial reef development.

    Design

Success begins with a data-driven, site-specific design that aligns with the deployment location and ecological requirements. Using advanced scaled testing equipment, 3D printing, and scientifically proven materials, structures are optimised to support marine species engagement while meeting engineering requirements for scour protection and artificial reef functionality. Tailored surface textures, multiple-sized indentations, and sheltered crevices create an environment that encourages biodiversity growth from day one.

    Manufacturing

Sustainability is a fundamental consideration when producing marine infrastructure. Utilising low-carbon, marine-grade concrete, these solutions are built for long-term durability while minimising environmental impact. Designed to withstand harsh marine conditions, every unit offers structural reliability and ecological benefits in equal measure.

    Deployment

Ensuring safe and efficient installation is critical to the success of any marine infrastructure project. With comprehensive rigging, mooring, and handling support, solutions are deployed with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment, integrating seamlessly into marine ecosystems while maintaining installation efficiency.

    Decomissioning

For long-term ecological success, a project’s impact extends beyond installation. Long-term ecological monitoring provides insights into habitat development, biodiversity growth, and structural integrity, ensuring continued success. Designed to remain on the seabed indefinitely, these solutions create thriving ecosystems that support marine life for generations to come.

Marine infrastructure should work in harmony with nature, delivering effective engineering solutions while actively enhancing biodiversity. There is no risk to the environment should materials degrade over time, and these structures continue to deliver long-term ecological and operational benefits.

  • Consultation

The first phase is to talk things through and gauge your situation, and which of our products is the best solution for it. We would establish the scale of the requirements, location, application and anything else bespoke that may be required for your project.

  • Design

We then work closely with our in-house science and engineering teams to create tailored designs based on the deployment location and project goals.

This enables us to deliver a nature-inclusive design to reflect the local marine environment and target the growth of specific species.

  • Manufacturing

At this stage, we ensure all our products are built as close to the deployment location as possible, using local labour and raw materials where possible.

Further carbon reductions and cost savings occur through manufacturing “in country” and utilising a combination of our globally transportable mobile production plant and using local raw material suppliers.

  • Permits & Licensing

We will assist with bid writing right from the tender stage & compliance through to conditions, obtaining permits and licensing for deposits onto the seabed with government bodies.

We can even take care of stakeholder management with fisheries, government, community groups and governing boards.

  • Transport & Logistics

Local deployment at your project location ensures that the entire process supports the local economy and follows industry-standard procedures with industry-standard hardware and vessels for added efficiency. We also have our own portfolio of deployment equipment that has been designed by our team from over 30 years of industry experience

  • Monitoring

Pre & post-deployment, we can deploy multiple monitoring techniques such as eDNA or ROV’s to assess the effectiveness of our subsea protection and artificial reef products. This allows us to track progress, monitor the development of marine life, compared to the baseline and fine tune our solutions for optimal results.
